Consortium Instructional Innovation Committee

“Developing Online Discussion Groups”
with Dr. Jane Zahner at Luther Seminary
For faculty and staff of consortium schools
Was held on March 6th from 3 – 9 pm. A light supper was served

Facilitator: Dr. Jane Zahner. Dr. Jane Zahner is Professor of Instructional Technology and lead designer/coordinator of a highly successful online graduate program in its sixth year of existence. She has been teaching at a distance for 12 years, first using interactive video, then hybrid courses, and currently, nearly all online. Trained in Instructional Systems Design at the doctoral level (Florida State University, 1992), Dr. Zahner created the Webminister D.O.G. Show, and has been the facilitator for variations on the workshop at national and state conferences, as well as invited faculty development workshops. Dr. Zahner's joy occurs when her students overcome their initial fears and skepticism about online learning, and express the confidence they’ve developed in themselves, the appreciation of the importance of their online peers, and delighted surprise at the strong level skills they've developed through online coursework.
